サテラビュー = 1995年に任天堂が出した、スーパーファミコン用の衛星放送アダプタ。「セント・ギガ」の衛星放送を通じてゲームやデータをダウンロードして遊べた。
サウンドリンク・ゲーム = 決まった時間に流れる生放送のBGM・ナレーション・声優ボイスと同期して進む、放送限定の特殊なゲーム。

死んで正解だったよ。クソみたいなストリーミング配信やダウンロード専売ゲームが、必要以上に早く来なくて済んだんだから。ただ、サテラビューでしか遊べなかったゲームが全部失われたことだけは惜しい。やろうと思えば各社は、生放送で流れた録音音声込みのサテラビュー無し版を作れたはずなんだ。当時すでにサードパーティが、SNESでCDプレイヤーと同期してCD音質の音楽やボイスを鳴らすゲームを出していた（アドオンだったかカートリッジ内蔵だったかは忘れたが）。任天堂だって、音声ポート付きの似たカートリッジを作って、生放送のオーケストラ音源とボイスを全部収めたCDを同梱すれば良かったんだよ。

正直、配信されてた物の大半は、最初こそ面白そうに聞こえても別になくても困らなかった。開発者インタビューやデジタル雑誌なんかは、ニンテンドウパワーのカートリッジでもできた（まあ容量を割きたくなかっただろうが）。あの仕組みで唯一ガチでユニークだったのは、街(タウン)ハブだけだと思う。

Im glad it died. We didn’t need shitty ass streaming and digital only games sooner then necessary. Its just a shame about all the games lost that were on it. These companies could have theoretically done non satella versions of these games, complete with the recorded audio. There already was a 3rd party on the snes doing games that could sync up with a CD player (cant remember if it was an add-on or a port on the cartridge) inorder to get CD audio and voices. Nintendo could have easily made if they wanted, a similar cartridge with a sound port, and bundled the game with an optional CD that contains all the orchestrated music and voices from the live broadcasts.

Hell, most of the stuff on the service, while initially sounding neat, was not necessary. A lot of the stuff like the developer interviews and digital magazines, could have been also done via the Nintendo Power cartridges, though i get most probably wouldn’t waste space on their carts for them. The town hub is really the only truly unique feature I would say of the whole set up.

いや全然違う。子供は自由で、好き放題やれる。ひどい目に遭う心配もほとんどない（まあ例外はあるが）。ティーンになれば受験勉強はあるけど、それはアメリカの子がSATの勉強するのと変わらない。で、大学に入ったらほとんど何もしない——大学なんてお遊びで、入るのが一番難しいんだから。卒業したら就活するけど、人手不足だから大して難しくない。そして平均すると、アメリカ人より労働時間の短い職場に入る。日本で育つのは、むしろ理想的だよ。

あと、あのサテラビューのゲームはリメイクであって、新作じゃないからな。

It’s really not. Kids are free and can go do whatever the hell they want because they don’t have to worry about […] (for the most part. Exceptions do exist). Once they become teenagers they have to study for entrance tests but that’s no different than American kids studying for the SAT. And then after they enter university they do fuck all because university is a joke and getting in is the hardest part. Then they graduate and apply for jobs, and it’s really not that hard because there’s a labor shortage, and then enter the workforce where they work less on Average than Americans. Growing up in Japan would be ideal.
The Satellaview game was a remake, not a new game.
