お前らはこいつを“兄貴（Aniki）”って呼んでるけど、日本だと“あんかけチャーハンの人”なんだ。2000年代、男二人がガチムチで絡み合うレスリング動画の英語のセリフが空耳で日本のネットに広まってさ。とくに彼が低く唸るシーンが「あんかけチャーハン!!」に聞こえるってんでネタになった。

今でも日本人はコンビニであんかけチャーハンを見かけると、なぜか妙にテンションが上がるんだ。

/a/ might recognize this guy as “Aniki”, but in Japan he’s “ankake chahan” (savory sauce fried rice) man. The video of two men having a homoerotic wrestling contest became popular in Japan in the 2000s when their english dialogue was misinterpreted and memed on the internet. In particular a line where he growls loudly is interpreted as “ankake chahan!!”.

To this day, Japanese get very excited when they see ankake chahan being sold in a convenience store.

兄貴（Aniki） = 海外の俳優・ボディビルダー、ビリー・ヘリントン。日本のネットで人気になった。
あんかけチャーハン = とろみのある餡をかけたチャーハン。

情報の授業中、中国人のクラスメイトが俺が兄貴の動画を見てるのに気づいて、吹き出しながら一言「Philosophy（哲学）」ってつぶやいたんだ。あの瞬間ほど、国境を越えた仲間意識を感じたことはなかったよ。

When I was in my Computer Science class, one of the Chinese students burst out laughing when he saw I was watching Aniki and uttered “Philosophy”. I had never felt such kinship across cultures before.

Philosophy = 兄貴系の動画につけられる定番のネタタグ。
