アニメっていうか日本のメディア全般って、海外を舞台にしてても――今回みたいに架空のヨーロッパっぽい国でも――結局そこに日本文化と慣習が染み込んでるのが面白いんだよな。

今日スパイファミリー見始めたんだけど、アーニャが入学試験を受けて合格発表の掲示板を見に行くシーンあったろ？あれ完全に日本の学校文化なんだよ。俺も日本住みのパパだから自分の子供と同じことやったし。

そういうとこあるから「日本はアニメと全然違う」って言う█████共を見るとマジで笑える。アニメが日本らしさを消そうとしても、結局めちゃくちゃ日本ぽくなるんだから。

I think one of the funny things about anime or even Japanese media in general is that even when it is set abroad, or in this case a fictional European country, it’s still baked in Japanese culture and customs.

I started watching Spy x Family today and Anya took a school entrance test and they checked the board for the results to see if she got in and that is literally Japanese school culture and I had to do that with my kid (I’m a davido in Japan).

Stuff like that is why it’s funny when retards claim Japan is nothing like anime, because even when anime tries not to be like Japan it’s still super Japanese.

カプコンが SF6 のリリース前に「文化考証ガチでやりました！」ってアピールしてたやつ思い出した。文化アドバイザーの指示で、フランスステージ背景のチュロス屋をクレープ屋に直したっていうあれな。あと “Latina（ラティーナ）” を個人名だと思ってた作家とかもいただろ。

I’m reminded of the SF6 pre-release feature capcom put out where the devs are bragging about how authentically they represent cultures because their cultural advisors told them to change a churro stand in the background of a french stage to be a crepe place. Or the author that thought Latina was a personal name.

いやそれ普通だろ。アメリカ人が他国を題材にした作品書いても結局アメリカ視点で、文化に合ってなくてもアメリカっぽいことやらせるしな。

That’s normal stuff though. Whenever you see an American write something about other countries it’s from an American lens and they do American shit even if it’s not entirely right for the context.

That’s still less offensive that supposedly European characters bowing. You have to watch Ghibli to find someone who cared enough to avoid that shit.

だってあいつら別にガチでヨーロッパ人として描かれてるわけじゃないし。ただ雰囲気のために舞台として使ってるだけで、登場人物は全員日本人なんだよ。ジブリだって魔女宅のキキは舞台スカンジナビアだけど、キキはどう見ても日本人だろｗ

Because they’re not actually supposed to be European. They just do the setting for vibes, everyone is still Japanese. Even in ghibli, Kiki is set in Scandinavia but Kiki is absolutely Japanese lmao.
